Event has already taken place. Swedish Hiphop meets Gothenburg Symphony! With Dani M, Imenella, Vic Vem, Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and Hans Ek. Erik Lundin's participation is canceled due to illness.
Tradition and present merge in a dynamic meeting between Swedish hiphop elite and symphonic orchestra in a unique concert in Gothenburg Concert Hall. At the forefront of this fusion is artist Vic Vem, the Gothenburg rapper who is passionate about the words, the story and the dynamics – the soul of hiphop. Vic Vem has a versatile position in Swedish hiphop and runs several projects to help young people write music.
With him this evening, he has artists from Sweden’s hip-hop elite: the rapper and dancer Imenella released her debut album in 2022 with tracks of dancehall and r’n’b and was named Newcomer of the Year at the Grammy Awards in 2019. In addition, Uppsala’s pride Dani M, well-established artist with roots in both hip-hop and reggae. The song list includes mega hits such as Imenella’s Chagga and Dani M’s F.A.M.E. Conductor Hans Ek had made the unique arrangements for this concert.
With arranger and conductor Hans Ek on the podium, we can always count on great musical experiences and newly interpreted Swedish pop of the highest class. Together with artists such as Zara Larsson, Laleh and Veronica Maggio, he has created concerts that have given him a very special position in Swedish music life. In Gothenburg Concert Hall you have met him in Bowie in Berlin, Kosmische Musik, E.S.T. Symphony and Disco. Now he is taking on the hiphop scene together with the Gothenburg Symphony.
