Slottsskogen National Day Concert 2025
Event has already taken place. The Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and guests play in a verdant Slottsskogen. A tradition together with the City of Gothenburg that brings together tens of thousands and becomes a time for relaxation, fellowship and singing. We also welcome our new citizens in the Gothenburg City Citizenship Ceremony!

Enjoy an afternoon in a green Slottsskogen when Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra offers a musical experience under the open sky. Bring your picnic blanket and experience a cavalcade of festive summer music from our large stage. Host for the day is Mikael Samuelson, one of Sweden’s most accomplished musical artists, and conductor is Christian Øland. We also welcome our new Gothenburg citizens in the city of Gothenburg’s citizenship ceremony.
Please leave the car at home – parking in Slottsskogen is especially limited this year. And of course, it’s better for the environment too!
More activities during the day
- Activities for children in the tents to the right of the main stage.
- 13.00 City of Gothenburg’s citizenship ceremony is held with speech by the chairman of the municipal board, Jonas Attenius.
- 13.15 Dream Orchestra will perform. The orchestra was formed by Ron Davis Alvarez in connection with the refugee crisis in 2015 with the goal of creating a safe place where dreams, friendships and people meet. Today, Dream Orchestra brings together students, teachers and volunteers from more than 18 different nationalities. In 2024, Ron Davis Álvarez and Dream Orchestra were selected as finalists in the CNN Heroes, an award that highlights people and organizations that are changing lives around the world.
Programme: Sinfonia by Georg Philipp Telemann, Viking by Soon Hee Newbold and Hungarian Dance No. 5 by Johannes Brahms.
Gothenburg’s citizenship ceremony
In connection with the concert, the City of Gothenburg’s citizenship ceremony will be held, where we welcome our new citizens!
