Enjoy the quiet and solemn music of Gabriel Fauré. The Autumn Holiday Choir takes on a touching French masterpiece.
The Frenchman Gabriel Fauré could express great emotions with small means, and was an expert on beautiful melodies. His beloved Requiem is no exception. Here we hear the beautiful choral work in the hands of the youth choir and conductor Simon Kim Phipps. The concert opens with Benjamin Britten’s beautiful Missa Brevis, written in latin for three part choir and organ.
During the autumn holidays every year, young singers from West Sweden meet in Gothenburg Concert Hall. During the course, you develop your singing voice and get to work on stage with professional singers, musicians and educators in one of the world’s finest concert halls. You are about 14-23 years old and used to reading sheet music. The final fireworks are a concert in the mighty Great Hall!
