Event has already taken place
As a Christmas greeting to the people of Gothenburg, Göteborgs-Posten has, since 1996, invited a Swedish artist each year to interpret the Santa. Last year, Patrik Andiné was given the prestigious commission.
This year’s artwork will be unveiled at Gothenburg Concert Hall on 14 December — together with all previous works, from Ernst Billgren to Lars Lerin and Karin Broos.
The idea behind the Santa greetings originally came from Peter Hjörne, former Editor-in-Chief of Göteborgs-Posten. The artists are given complete freedom to create within the agreed santa Claus theme. This year’s artwork is the 30th since the initiative began.
